COUNSELORS NOT COPS Continuation from August and Week of Action DSC in October 2018. We have these events every year and invite you all to come. Will we see you this time?
“Education is a right we will not give up the fight”
Will You Join Us, Portland Parent Union , the Parents and Families, Your Constituents, Our Partners and Students, In a Trust Circle Focused on Community Building. Relationship Building,
Families/students have questions for you!
Please pass this on to your list and especially the Families.
WE will talk about Counselors Not cops, Through an awareness of intersectionality, which we can better acknowledge and ground the differences among us?
Parents/families students would love for you to come to answer their questions in a dialogue. We are forming a Trust Circle and inviting all who influence families and others in the communities to form a support coalition through listening and dialogue.
How do we collaborate and become a community of care no matter what position we are in. One way is to build relationships and make commitments of support to each other. How do we take all that we are doing and put an hour or two each week, every other week or month to turn it into helping us to create a community of care. This means figuring out how we can support families especially those who could be on the path to failure. There are many who are doing their own thing to support the community. Come tell us how you are doing it. Please let PPU know if you can participate. Call for questions 503-880-9145
We need your input as to how we can infuse our work by forming a community bond. Can we make a commitment to our families who could use your expertise/support. They have questions! Can we get a commitment for you to come and share as Admins, Board Members, Cops and Teachers and others to answer questions that families will ask. We need a community coalition made up of educators, families/students, social workers, gov. officials, policeman, judges, school board, superintendents, police and school, lawyers, etc. There are coalitions but the most impacted around this subject aren’t at the tables.
